The "True Sardo" case
The Project
This long-standing client of ours is in the food packing and export business and was looking for packaging to box its cherry tomatoes. On the production side, they needed a container that was manageable and easy to fill and close so that packaging time would be expedited as much as possible. On the consumer side, similarly, there was a need for a packaging that was aesthetically pleasing, with the goal of attracting consumers, and at the same time “portable” and easy to pick up at the time of purchase.
After listening to the client's needs, the Boxerize team decided on a basket consisting of a self-forming base and two shaped arms with cut-outs to make closure quick and easy; all in one piece and choosing kraft cardboard as the material, a very durable type of paper with a rough appearance to convey an idea of natural and sustainable, an essential requirement for the client.
What steps we followed
- Creation of the die-cut layout: the Boxerize graphics team studied the client's need in depth and proposed several alternative solutions. The choice fell on the one-piece die-cut, a faster and more functional solution.
- Offset printing: for printing we chose offset printing, ideal in case of large print runs and to offer, at the same time, very high quality.
- Laser punching: for cutting the structure of the box (die cut) and to obtain the desired template, we opted for laser punching technology, the best for making precise cuts on curves, tight corners and faithfully replicating even the smallest details of such a special die cut.
- Fold-and-paste machine: for fast and precise assembly, the fold-and-paste machine was used, which allowed us to make each individual basket with an unusual die layout, due to the curved shape of the die, but which we completed successfully.
The result
Goal achieved in a short time, an even stronger relationship of trust.
The goal of making a convenient, durable, and also beautiful container in a short time was reached.
The customer personally expressed his satisfaction with the product, which fully meets his needs, made within the agreed delivery time.
